The Accra High-court has disregarded the injunction that was intended to stop the funeral rites and burial of the Queen of the Ga Traditional Council.
The funeral that was slated for Saturday 28th October 2023 faced uncertainty as a group of family members prayed the court put an injunction of the burial and funeral rights of the late Ga Manye.
The injunction request was originally requested by Head of Antie We of Kpone, and 8 others.
The Court, presided over by Justice Patrick Baayeh on Thursday 26th October, 2023 ruled that the initial injunction granted was an error because the true state of the affairs was not provided by the applicant
The judge’s ruling stated :“In fairness to the parties therefore, the Order of Interim Injunction granted on October 25, 2023 is hereby set aside,”
Following the announcement that the funeral will be held on Saturday 28th October, 2023, shops and businesses in Accra have been instructed to close in order to make way for the burial and funeral rites of the Ga Manye.
