The Greater Accra Annual Regional Network of Entrepreneurial Development and Employment Promotion Conference was a resounding success, bringing together stakeholders from various industries to discuss sustainable solutions for enterprise development and employment promotion.

Held at the Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium, UPSA, Accra, on November 12-13, 2024, the conference was attended by esteemed guests, including the Hon. Deputy Minister of Finance, who delivered the keynote address.

Day 1 Highlights
The conference kicked off with arrivals and registration, followed by networking sessions among registered participants. The official opening and welcome address were delivered by the MC for the occasion, Benjamin Offei-Addo, setting the tone for the conference.
The welcome address by the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council was followed by opening remarks from GIZ Country Director, Dr. Dirk Aßmann, and the Head of German Development Cooperation, Franziska Jebens.
Day 2
The second day of the conference had a lot of brainstorming activities. There were breakout rooms for all participants. Hubs were created for all sectors. MSMEs had their breakout rooms, service providers had theirs and regulatory bodies also had theirs.
The idea was to brainstorm and find solutions to the problems that hinder their progress.
The hubs had about an hour and half to brainstorm after which a 15 minutes presentation would be given by one representative from each hub.

The discussion centred around improving sustainable employment situations in MSMEs and the role of key actors in the ecosystem.
The CEO of SHABA, a longtime Ghanaian Entrepreneur outlined the numerous frustration the ordinary entrepreneur has to endure to remain in business. He mentioned regulatory bodies like the Ghana Standards Authority and the Food and Drugs Authority.

The conference concluded with a moderated Q&A session, recap, and networking opportunities, providing attendees with valuable insights and connections to drive sustainable growth and development in the region.
