Gomoa MP A Plus Shares Vision for Gomoa Eco Park
The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame A Plus, updates the public on Gomoa Eco Park. He shares a glimpse of what this landmark development will look like. The project forms part of the Gomoa Special Economic Zone.
The Gomoa MP announced the arrival of Chinese engineers a few weeks ago. These engineers conduct feasibility studies for Phase One of the project. The development will create jobs for thousands of young people.
The 50-metre Gomoa Observation Tower will stand on a 157-metre mountain. Its highest point will sit more than 200 metres above the surrounding elevation. The tower will announce a new light shining from Ghana’s Central Region.
Technical Studies and State Institutions
The MP explains why construction has not yet begun. He says a development of this scale requires extensive technical studies and approvals. These processes take time but ensure a safe and sustainable project.
The team works with several state institutions on this project. The Ghana Geological Survey Authority conducts geotechnical and geophysical investigations at the site. The Ghana Irrigation Development Authority conducts a bathymetric survey of the dam.
The team has completed cadastral, topographical, and hydrogeological surveys. The hydrogeological survey confirms an underground water source at the site. This discovery reduces the cost of supplying water to the artificial waterfall.
Ghanaian Consultants and Green Energy
Spatial planners, civil engineers, and drainage consultants contribute to the project. Electrical engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency also support the work. The MP expresses pride that the consultants are Ghanaians.
The entire development must be powered by reliable and sustainable green energy. The MP travels around the world to secure strategic partnerships and investments. These partnerships support large-scale solar-power infrastructure in Gomoa.
A Dream Taking Shape
The MP dreams of building industries that employ thousands of young people. He wants to provide economic security for the people in old age. He says the dream is steadily taking shape.
The MP acknowledges that commissioning by Easter 2027 is no longer realistic. He says the project has fallen behind schedule due to delays. However, the tower will be switched on before the end of 2027.
