Governor Announces Arrest in High-Profile Case – Suspect In Charlie Kirk’s Killing
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox announced the arrest during a Friday morning news briefing. He confirmed that authorities apprehended suspect Tyler Robinson on the evening of Sept. 11.
Authorities have taken Tyler Robinson into custody, where he is currently being held without bail in a Utah jail on multiple initial charges, including aggravated murder.

Tip from Family Led to Swift Apprehension
According to officials, the arrest occurred after a critical tip from a family member. Specifically, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox reported that last night, one of Robinson’s relatives contacted a family friend, who then immediately alerted authorities. The tipster revealed that Robinson had allegedly confessed to or implied his involvement in the incident.

Furthermore, the investigation quickly uncovered a potential motive and evidence. The governor also stated that a separate family member informed investigators that Robinson had previously spoken negatively about Kirk. During a subsequent search, investigators discovered a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a towel. Most notably, they found engraved inscriptions on casings with the rifle; one message read, “Hey fascist! Catch!”
