Three individuals have been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service in relation to the recent killings of mobile money merchants in the Ashanti Region.
The three suspects—Charles Danso, Phillip Foujour, and Samuel Mensah—were taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in two recent murders of MoMo vendors: the shocking March 10 murder of Gideon Owusu Sarpong, also known as Junior, in Kwadaso, and the February 13 murder of Patricia Nimako in Krofrom.
The accused were taken into custody at Pankrono and Atimatim on March 21, 2025, the Ghana Police Service said in a statement released on Wednesday, March 25. They are being detained by the police and will soon be charged in court.
Martin Amoah has been named as the fourth suspect and is still at large.
During a press briefing in Kumasi on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, urged the public to assist in tracking down Baba Macho.
“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Police via Toll-Free number 191,112 (18555 MTN and Telecel),” he appealed.
