The Office of The President earlier on 15th January, 2025 directed all former government officials and persons with Diplomatic and service passports to return them.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was to enforce that directive. Hence, the Ministry has released a precise list of all affected individuals. The deadline given by the Ministry for the return of all such passports is Friday, 24th January 2025.

Below are the affected persons to return the passports:
– Former Ministers and their spouses.
– Former Members of Parliament across all political affiliations.
– Retired Justices of the Superior and Lower Courts.
– Former Regional Ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives.
– Chief Executive Officers of State Institutions, Chairs, and Members of Boards.
– Officials of the National Cathedral Project.
– Former Political Ambassadors and their dependents.
– Businesspersons, religious leaders, and traditional leaders.
– Other former government functionaries no longer serving in official roles

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has assured of a thorough review and a possible reissuance.
