When deciding to visit Santorini, I initially wanted to take my kids (ages 8 and 7) along. Vacation with kids can be stressful at the same time awesome. The kids get to see their favorite spots and if they love swimming, they would enjoy the various beaches on the island; black sand beach, red beach, volcanic beaches, etc. There are jaw-dropping places kids would definitely love to see.
However, Santorini with kids, it’s a no-no-no, especially below the age of 12. You see, inasmuch as you would like for your kids to see the beautiful places in Santorini, bringing kids along will limit your movements and you may not be able to explore the best places on the island. Unless the kids are much older, say 12 years and above then you probably might want to leave them at home.
You need to take a lot of pictures throughout the island. That involves a lot of walking. Each day I spent on the island exploring and taking pictures, my android phone calculated not less than 17,000 steps, that’s a lot of walking. Getting the best pictures and videos means walking long distances through crowded narrow roads and having to wait long minutes to have your turn to take pictures at some favorite spots. Kids below the age of 12 may not be able to survive that. Parking spaces are limited and there’s little room for baby trolleys.
