Ghana Lost About GHS500million : ORAL Receives Full Dossier Of NSS Scandal

Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the chairman for the ORAL team in charge of curbing corruption has revealed through his X page that the team has received the full dossier of the National Service ghost names scandal.

The chairman further stated that the alleged scandal at the Authority has caused the nation an estimated amount of GHS500million.

The dossier was presented to the team by The Fourth Estate and the Media Foundation for West Africa.

During a governance forum held in Accra, president elect, John Mahama reaffirmed his resolve to tackle the corruption menace. He said “I’m affirming my commitment to root out the canker of corruption. One of our tools to combat corruption, and make it a high-risk endeavour for any person, Operation Recover All the Loot, will investigate, and prosecute the persons involved in corruption, using both local and foreign expertise to achieve this objective,”

Early on, the ORAL team shared contacts on how to report corruption. During the visit and presentation of the dossier, the Hon member of parliament further urged the public to volunteer information freely to the team in order to aid it to uproot the corruption canker.

Scanning through comments on the X page of Hon Ablakwa, majority of Ghanaians have expressed joy and satisfaction over the incoming government’s posture towards corruption.
