The electoral commission has released a 6 page document on the current state of the Dec 7 general elections.
in a press conference that was held on the afternoon of the 19th Dec, the EC gave an update of the nine outstanding constituencies.
According to the EC, these nine constituencies are deprived of their respective representatives of parliament.
The commission further said some of the reasons the officials could not come to a conclusion are :Prescence of numerous supporter of both parties disrupting proceedings, destruction of pink sheets by same supporters, beating some EC officials, threatening EC official with death.
The EC further said some of these constituencies had their results declared under duress and didn’t follow due process.
The E.C applauded its staff who worked courageous even in the face of threat and violence.
Finally, the EC called on the president, Nana Akuffo Addo and the President elect John Dramani to intervene in order to bring an end to the collation stand still.
