Vice president and NPP presidential candidate Dr. Bawumia has explained his reasons for conceding defeat early hours of Sunday 8th January.
Dr. Bawumia revealed to members of the diplomatic mission who visited him at the Jubilee House on 23 Dec 2024..
The current vice president opined that, there was no point dragging the matter further after the party’s team in charge on the collation revealed to him that the NDC had won the election.
He further stated that it was pointless to allow Ghanaians go through the tensed moment and uncertainties.
The vice president also stated that he was well aware of the potential economic impact the country will face if he hadn’t conceded defeat early after the the polls.
He was however hopeful of the party’s ability to re-group, re-strategize and compete for next four years’ elections.
