AABRYTE Foundation, a leading advocate for Menstrual Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), as well as Gender Equality in Ghana has commended Government’s initiative of launching free sanitary pads program for young girls across the Nation
In March 2025, the Non Governmental and Non profit making organization founded by broadcast journalist Diana Akosua Adutwumwaa Britwum applauded the Government for its decision on the free distribution of sanitary pads.
In about a month and some days, AABRYTE has once again applauded government for implementing the promise of the free sanitary pads.
In a statement, the founder of AABRYTE said about the policy:
This policy is a beacon of hope. however, translating if from political promise to practical reality requires more than distribution. We must ask- how will this program be sustained, especially in remote and under-resourced communities? What data was it based on? will the quality, quantity and accessibility of these pads be monitored effectively? how do we ensure this does not become another well-intentioned initiative that fails due to bureaucratic bottlenecks?”
The foundation has urged Government and all other stakeholders to approach this task with transparency, inclusivity and innovation.
