Another attempt by Afua Asantewaa to break the Guinness record for the longest singing contest by an individual has began in Kumasi.

The media personality officially started the challenge on 21 December, 2024 at dawn. It is expected to end on the 25th December, spanning about four days. The challenged is being held at the Heroes’ Park, Baba Yara Stadium.

A year ago, Afua Asantewaa attempted the challenge in Accra. Last  year’s challenge took place on the 24 Dec to 29th 2023.

The current record for this particular category of the Guinness world record stands at 105 hours. It is held by an Indian national by name Sunil Waghmare.

She is expected to receive a lot of support from Ghanaians just as she did for last year’s challenge.

Her manager Madam Gladys Osei Owusu said “I can confirm that she is ready for the task ahead,” said Madam Owiredu. “It’s been challenging—by way of preparations—but I can say she is ready.”

The challenge will be streamed live on her Facebook page for viewers who are not present physically.
