Kwadwo Sarfo Kantanka – Several media houses within Accra have reported of the sudden death of Dr. Apostle Kwado Sarfo Kantanka.

Sarah Adwoa Safo, daughter of the Religious leader confirmed his death. She did so through a statement on Sunday 14th 2025. Adwoa Safo is a former Member of Parliament and Minister of Gender.

Apostle Sarfo Kantanka is the founder of Christo Asafo Religious Organization.

He is also the founder of the Christo Asafo School.

Apostle Kwadwo Safo was a celebrated Ghanaian preacher, inventor, and philanthropist. Tragically, he passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 77.

Among his many accomplishments, Apostle Safo founded the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group of Companies. As a result of his innovative work, people nicknamed him “The Star of Africa.” He dedicated his life to innovation and, more specifically, to advancing local manufacturing in Ghana.

Perhaps his most famous achievement is creating Kantanka Automobile. This is a Ghanaian company that builds vehicles specifically designed for African roads and markets; for example, these models include the popular Kantanka Omama SUV and the Onantefo pickup truck.

Throughout his life, Apostle Safo inspired many not only as an inventor but also as a physicist, chemist, biologist, and agriculturalist.

THE PASSING OF APOSTLE KWADWO SAFO 

With profound sorrow and deepest grief, the Safo Family and the Kristo Asafo Church announce the peaceful passing of Ghana’s beloved man of God, the greatest technological icon, philanthropist, agriculturalist, and industrialist popularly referred to as “Kantanka, the African Star”.

Our dearest Father passed away peacefully on Thursday, 11th September 2025.

Romans 14:8 states; “For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord”. 

Apostle Safo was a true genius, the beacon of hope for many, a father to the fatherless. Ghana has indeed lost a galant son and a true legend. 

His unique persona was shaped by his life struggles, dreams, resilience, courage, determination and dedication to His calling and conviction.
