Syrian Rebels Topple Government-President Flee Country

Bashar al-Assad, the president of Syria has fled the country.

The Nation of Syria has been torn by a civil war for more than a decade due to the iron fisted family rule.

The government has been fighting rebel forces for years.

Assad’s rule has been characterized by violence and cracking down on any form of descent and labeling any group as terrorists.

The syrian rebels took control over Damascus on Sunday forcing the president and his family to flee.

“We celebrate with the Syrian people the news of freeing our prisoners and releasing their chains and announcing the end of the era of injustice in Sednaya prison,” the rebels said, referring to a large jail on the outskirts of Damascus where the Syrian government detained thousands

Vladimir Puttin has given support to the Syrian government forces for years. But it appears this time, the Russian president is focusing on his own war with Ukrain.

His war with Ukraine has been described as a proxy war with America the U.K and NATO. It therefore comes as no surprise that he seem to have abandoned his Syrian friend.

Experts say Israel’s war with Hezbollah and Hamas might have contributed very much to the overthrow of Assad’s govenement. Israel’s heavy blow to Hezbollah has crippled the moral of both Syria and Iran.

Israel’s war with it’s enemies has certainly weekend their allys. Iran and Syria have both been drawn or have drawn themselves into the brutal war with Israel.

Israel, backed by the West were relentlessly in their efforts to do away with Hezbollah, an arm of Iran.

The collapse of the Syrian government followed a shift in the balance of power in the Middle East after many leaders of Lebanon’s Iranian-backed Hezbollah group, a lynchpin of Assad’s battlefield force, were killed by Israel over the past two months.

After the president fled, thousands of Syrians were seen waving flags and chanting “freedom”.

The country is now preparing for a transition in govenement for a democratic rule.
