Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has officially issued a public apology to his former manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson (Bulldog/Bullgod), retracting past allegations that Bulldog was involved in the 2014 murder of artist manager Fennec Okyere.
The apology comes after years of legal battles and public feuds between the two.
In the apology, Shatta Wale admitted that his 2022 social media posts were “misunderstood” and clarified that he never meant to imply Bulldog was involved in Fennec Okyere’s death.
He wrote: “I wish to retract each of the statements… as I did not mean to say that Mr. Hanson had a hand in the murder of Fennec Okyere”
Beyond the murder accusation, Wale also apologized for alleging Bulldog engaged in “immoral or improper social behavior”.
The self acclaimed Dancehall King also expressed regret for causing “pain, agony, anguish, shame, ridicule, or hatred”
The apology most likely follows a defamation lawsuit filed by Bulldog in 2022, where he sought damages and a court-ordered retraction.
The case was settled out of court, with one condition being a public apology.
Some fans and social media users see the apology as insincere, suggesting it was only made to avoid legal consequences
