With an overwhelming victory in Ghana’s general elections, Ex President Mahama is Ghana’s president elect.

With an estimated two thirds of seats in Ghana’s parliament, the president elect is set to enjoy an absolute power over the nation.

Support for Constitutional Amendments:
Constitutional amendments in Ghana require a supermajority in Parliament. While a simple majority doesn’t guarantee this threshold, it provides a strategic starting point for building consensus

Control Over Parliamentary Committees:
A parliamentary majority allows the president’s party to dominate key committees, including the Finance Committee and Appointments Committee, which oversee executive actions and appointments.
