Mob Fury at School: Students Attack Headmaster Over Alleged Baby Burial

What started as a shocking discovery quickly spiraled into a violent rampage at a local senior high school, leaving the headmaster hospitalized and his home in ruins.

Obuasi Secondary Technical Students

Students at the school turned on their headmaster, Mr. Zakaria, after one of them allegedly spotted his vehicle near the school’s refuse dump. The student raised an alarm, drawing a crowd of angry colleagues to the scene.

Their claim? That a fresh baby had been buried at that spot, and that the headmaster was somehow involved.

From Accusation to Assault

What followed was swift and brutal. The mob didn’t wait for explanations or evidence. They physically attacked Mr. Zakaria, leaving him with multiple injuries. Not stopping there, they stormed his bungalow, destroying everything in sight, including a Toyota Rav4 (registration number AC 127 – 23) and other household property.

The headmaster is now receiving treatment at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, where doctors are tending to his wounds.

Police Step In, But Questions Remain

It took police intervention to calm the chaos and prevent further violence. However, authorities have not confirmed whether any baby was actually buried on the grounds. Social media is awash with the video of the incident, and that’s the one question on everyone’s lips: Was there truly a baby found?

Whatever the truth turns out to be, the students’ reaction crossed every line. Destruction of property and mob justice are never the answer, no matter how strong the emotions run.

A Community in Shock

For now, the school community is left reeling. A headmaster lies in hospital, a home lies in ruins, and a very disturbing allegation hangs in the air. One thing is certain: the police will have their work cut out getting to the bottom of this, while the rest of us wait, and hope, that calm and reason will eventually prevail.
