An 11 member committee has been set up by the NPP party to investigate the party’s defeat.
The NPP National Executive Council (NEC) on 2nd January 2025 held and emergency meeting at the Alisa Hotel. It was during this meeting that the committee was formed.
The 11 members of the committee are Prof Yaa Ntiamoah-Baidu, Prof Kofi Osei Akuoko, Prof Samuel Bert Boadi-Kubi, Dr. Felix Yamoah, Dr Joseph Agyapong Darmoe, Mr FF. Anto, Mr Kwaku Domfe, Gifty Kusi, Abdulai Abanga, Seidu Nasigri and William Yamoah.
The committee will be chaired by Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, former speaker of parliament.
Besides investigating the election defeat, the committee is also to outline strategies to win the next elections
The committee is also to conduct a comprehensive review of the factors that led to the defeat. This, the NEC says will include consulting many stakeholders like grassroots supporters, party members and political analysts.
The party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong indicated that all members and stakeholders should cooperate with the committee to ensure the work is smoothly carried out.
