It appears the year 2024 is not ending very well for the McDan Aviation Services.
The company’s terminal was locked by the Ghana Airport Company on 30th December 2024.
The issue has gone back and forth with press releases and counter accusations form both parties.
The Airport Company claims McDan owes $3million in rents and other property charges.
The McDan group also claims the amount is less than the said $3million but refused to state the exact amount in contention. There was another issue of non payment for a piece of land bought along the Spintex road.
All these issues have not yet been resolved as of now.
The New Republic, a news paper publication in Ghana has just reported the seizure of McDan’s aircraft by U.K authorities. The reason stated for the seizure is also non payment of debt.
It is unclear at the moment additional reasons for the aircraft seizure other than what is alleged by The New Republic.
McDan Aviation Services is yet to respond to this allegation.
