President John Dramani Mahama has imposed strict sanctions on government appointees who failed to declare their assets by the March 31, 2025 deadline, as part of his administration’s anti-corruption and transparency measures.
Defaulters must forfeit three months’ salary, which will be donated to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares)
Additionally, all appointees were already required to contribute one month’s salary to the same fund, meaning total deductions amount to four months’ salary for non-compliant officials.
Those who fail to declare their assets by May 6, 2025 (close of day), will face automatic dismissal.
The President emphasized that no exemptions will be made, regardless of rank or influence.
The directive aligns with Article 286 of Ghana’s Constitution and the Public Office Holders (Declaration of Assets and Disqualification) Act, 1998 (Act 550).
