A degree holder from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has disclosed that he makes about eight thousand cedis per month working as a bolt driver.
The man who has not yet been identified disclosed this in an interview he had with a passenger and a social media user which was posted by “K.OMOTION1-25”.
The young man says he is a Medical Sonographer who studied at KNUST. After his National service, he realized he couldn’t continue as a Sonographer anymore.
Talking about how he dropped his medical practice for driving, the young man said he could not cope with the regular nine to five job. Hence he had to decide and choose between the two.
Additionally, with his sonographer colleagues earning around three thousand cedis monthly, he couldn’t continue with that but opted for the ride hailing service that pays more.
Asked whether the ride hailing service business was profitable, he said, “if my car with engine capacity of 1.8cc could make me revenue of about eight thousand cedis monthly, then those with lesser engine capacity like 1.5, 1.6 and 1.2 would make close to ten or twelve thousand cedis”.
The young man seemed very satisfied with his driving job. According to him, he has other business thus the driving affords him some time to attend to those businesses.
