The speaker of parliament has recalled parliament to attend to business.
This comes after the speaker rejected a request by aggrieved Hon leader of the NPP caucus in parliament Alexander Afenyo Markin.

Main reason given by the speaker for refusing to recall parliament is in order not to disrupt campaign processes of members prior to the general elections.
The speaker announced the date to be 16 December 2024.
It is expected that parliament will close all parliamentary businesses on the 16th before transitioning into a new parliament.
