Donald Trump has been elected as President of the United States of America.
The world’s greatest nation, went to the polls on 5th November to choose between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris to replace Joe Biden.
During the early morning of Wednesday 6th November, Donald Trump had obtained 279 as compared to Kamala’s 223 on the electoral map with some states still not declared. Trump obtained 71,539,949 votes representing 51.01% while Kamala obtained 66,490,473 votes representing 47.4%
This figure is more than enough from the electoral college to secure the win for Donald Trump.
Following the massive victory predicted by Donald Trump’s campaign team and all the media houses backed by data from the polls, the president-elect addressed his supporters at the party headquarters the morning after it became obvious that he would be heading back to the White House.
He thanked all those who were influential in securing the victory. Among them is the technology enthusiast, owner of Tesla, social media app X and the world’s richest man Elon Musk. The billionaire donated several of his Star Link internet connectivity devices to support the Trump campaign. Musk also campaigned aggressively in states that have swinging voting patterns to garner support for Trump. After spending months camping for Donald Trump, he also spent the election night with the president-elect in Florida. His activities in campaigning for Donald Trump led to a court suit in Pennsylvania which was ruled in his favour by the judge of the court
Meanwhile, the market in the U.S. has surged following Trump’s victory in the elections with Musk’s net worth increasing by $12B+.
