The Central Bank of Ghana has informed the public about the status of employment of the Governor.
Dr. Ernest Addison, is set to begin his leave from 3rd February, 2025.
The Bank announced that the tenure of the head will end on March 28, 2025.
Dr. Addison served two full terms under the Nana Addo Government since his appointment on April3, 2017.
Dr Addison becomes the 15th head of the Central Bank. He previously worked in the same Bank but as a director of research during 2003 to 2011. He has also worked in the African Development Bank as an economist.
The Authority of Heads of State of ECOWAS established a Task Force on the Economic Community of West African States, which he chaired. Part of his duties was to conduct feasibility studies that led to the establishment of the West African Monetary Institute.
He has been head of the Bank from March 2017 up until February 2025
