John Dramani Mahama, the president of the Republic of Ghana in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13 (1) of the Ghana Revenue Act 2009 (Act 791) has appointed as Commissioner General Anthony Akwasi Sarpong.

Anthony Sarpong is a Senior Partner at KPMG Ghana with over 22 years of professional experience across Ghana Nigeria and South Africa.
Mr. Sarpong has a First Class Honours degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Ghana. He obtained an Msc in Financial Risk Management from London Metropolitan University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Manchester.

His appointment takes effect immediately.
