Anglican cluster of schools in Kwashieman, Accra has been burnt.
Reports indicate that this may be most probably linked to elections related violence.

Early on after the elections, the NDC parliamentary candidate Ewurabena Aubynn was declared winner of that constituency. Her opponent Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie and the NPP have fiercely disputed the outcome of the results in that constituency.
The cluster of schools reside in the Ablekuman North constituency. The fire might have been started in the very early hours of Tuesday morning as reported by the PRO of the Ghana National Fire Service..

The public relations officer of the Ghana National Fire Service has said that the building stored ballot boxes under dispute. The school also served as a collation centre for the constituency.
The National Fire Service arrived at the scene on Tuesday morning to ensure the fire was brought under control. This prevented the fire from spreading further to destroy nearby buildings.
Currently, the building that has been burnt served as the school’s library and computer lab as well.

The perpetuators and arterial motive for the fire is yet to be known. However preliminary reports from the fire service suggests the fire started from the library where the ballot boxes were stored temporarily.
The Ghana Police Service is yet to inform the public on the outcome of its investigation.
