Paul Adom-Otchere, a Ghanaian broadcast journalist has narrated his unpleasant experience with an alleged Presidential staffer who threatened to beat him at the Nana Agyemang Prempeh International Airport-Kumasi .
Mr. Adom Otchere said he was on his way to Sunyani via Kumasi on an AWA Accra Kumasi plane when the incident occurred. It was at the airport with many travelers as well as some prominent NDC members when he encountered his alleged aggressor.
According to Paul, the gentleman whose picture he was able to obtain and display on his show is known as Nana Poku. The journalist narrated that Nana Poku kept threatening him at the airport without let up. Constantly yelling on top of his voice and chanting words like “we will beat you, we will beat your mother, we know your auntie’s shop in Kumasi, we will beat her too” etc.
Paul said he wondered who this man was. Whereas other prominent members exchanged pleasantries with himself, Nana Poku on the other hand only met him with constant verbal abuse.
He only discerned who Nana Poku was when he was picked up at the airport by a fleet of government cars when they disembarked. That, to Paul showed how important this individual was.
In the same narration, Paul is heard saying the gentleman claimed he was the engine at the Jubilee House. A presidential staffer. Not even the chief of staff, Julius Debrah could whip him in line Nana Poku bragged.
Paul alleged further that knowing fully well how important he was to the Mahama government, the man kept on his abusive speech even when he was dragged away by his own party members to cease fire.
According to Paul, when he arrived in Accra, he filed a formal complaint to the Police and has written his personal statement.
