President Zelenskyy was invited to the Oval office in Washington to negotiate a deal that would end the three year war with Russia.
The high level meeting took an unexpected turn when Zelenskyy seemed to have been ambushed by President Trump and his Vice President J.D Vance.
At a point the Ukraine President said his country had been alone in the fight against Russia but President Trump insisted that the U.S had supported Ukraine with over 350 billion dollars and arms.
President Trump also did not hold back from saying if Zelenskyy did not have such support from the U.S, the war would have ended in just two weeks.
Zelenskyy was forced to admit he received a lot of help from the U.S but insisted he could not accept a deal that would not favor his country.
The meeting somehow felt quite uncomfortable to watch as Zelenskyy at a point was told he could not speak because he didn’t have any cards.
President Trump at a point accused Zelenskyy of leading his country to total annihilation and provoking a third world war.
Many viewers worldwide have expressed varied views from the outcome of the meeting. Some say Trump was a bully and undiplomatic while others say he was straightforward, honest in telling Zelenskyy what his options are.
Yet, others also believe Vice President Vance should not have spoken to President Zelenskyy during the exchange. They argue the vice president should have shown some respect and allowed the two Presidents have the discussion while he observed.
