The murder suspect of the Healthcare CEO has been denied bail by a court in Pennsylvania.
Lawyers of Man who allegedly killed Medical insurance are fighting to prevent an extradition.
The suspect is accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The 26 year old man Luigi Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania and was denied bail during a court appearance. The accused and his lawyers are attempting to avoid extradition to New York.
The suspect was taken to court on Tuesday where he was heard chanting “it’s completely out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people. It’s lived experience!”
The accused was arrested on Monday at a McDonald’s restaurant in Pennsylvania. The Police acted on a tip-off given by the employees of the restaurant leading to his arrest.
Meanwhile, the classmates of the suspect are expressing shock at the incidence. They cannot believe the individual who committed that crime is someone they know so well.
Normally, people who commit such crimes might have unpleasant histories. But classmates cannot identify any form of questionable character displayed by Luigi.
One of the classmates said in an interview to CNN “I feel like it’s a cliché, everybody is like, ‘He was a quiet guy,’ but like he was even more normal than that,” He is also described as a “normal guy…or a thoughtful guy…unassuming and easy to approach”.
Meanwhile, lawyer for the suspect Tom Dickey says his office has received several requests from people requesting to foot the legal bills for the suspect.
