Mohamed Ibrahim, a supporter of the NDC opposition party has been sentenced to 4 years imprisonment.
He is nicknamed Commander Kanawu. Perhaps because of his overly expressive nature. That has certainly got him in trouble with the law.

The supporter was arrested earlier in September for publication with the intent of causing fear and panic. Prior to his arrest, he served as the Sowutuom branch organizer.
The organizer accused the Asante regional police command of recruiting false police officers with cause harm to citizens. He further threatened the other high ranking officials : Inspector-General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare, Interior Minister Henry Quartey, and Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa.

Ibrahim also threatened other citizens with death. Worst of all, his threats were highly based on the December 7th elections. The Ghana Police Service, determined to maintain law and order before, during and after the elections swiftly apprehended the culprit.
He was denied bail and remanded pending the court hearing. The culprit was charged with Publication of False News with Intent to Cause Fear and Alarm to the Public, Threat of Harm, and Offensive Conduct Conducive to Breach of Peace.

The suspect pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Regardless of his plea, he was found guilty on all counts and sentenced concurrently.
