Police Woman Kills Driver – A police officer shot and killed a taxi driver in Tetegu, near Weija. Consequently, the Ghana Police Service has launched an official investigation into the disturbing event, which occurred on January 19, 2026, following a reported confrontation.
Details of the Initial Shooting Of Taxi Driver
Preliminary information indicates that the policewoman allegedly shot the driver during the encounter. The victim, who was operating a Hyundai i10 taxi, was transported to the Police Hospital for emergency treatment. However, medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Officer Injured While Fleeing the Scene
Following the shooting, the incident escalated. Reports state that as the officer attempted to leave the location, a vehicle struck her. As a result, she sustained injuries to her head and both legs. She is currently receiving medical care and remains on admission.
Evidence Recovered from the Scene
Investigators have since processed the scene. During this process, they recovered key evidence, including one live 9mm round, a magazine, and one spent 9mm cartridge.
