The EC laid out their strategy to close the gap in a formal letter addressed to the representatives of each presidential candidate. It affirmed that more ballots would be produced and sent out before the election. To avoid interfering with the election process, the printing would be done at Acts Commercials in Accra.
The EC has urged all political parties and independent presidential candidates to send two representatives each to see the printing in order to preserve accountability and transparency.
The Commission claims that this will enable impartial monitoring and verification that the ballots are being produced in accordance with the law.
