Victims Identified in Fatal Tema Aircraft Crash

Authorities have identified the two victims of Monday’s fatal aircraft crash in Tema.

Captain Frank Amoaning Donkor, 36, was a flying instructor. Elijah Ofori Donkor, 25, was a recent university graduate. Both men resided in Hebron, Dobro.

The two were reportedly returning from a meeting in Ho. The tragic incident then occurred, leading to their untimely deaths. A source close to the investigation team disclosed this to Graphic Online.

The light aircraft bore registration number 9G-ADV crashed within the premises of the TMA Daycare Centre. The location was at Tema Community 1, Site 17. The plane subsequently burst into flames upon impact. Both occupants suffered partial burns in the accident.

The school community escaped the tragedy completely unharmed an no pupil was harmed in the incident.

Meanwhile, investigators removed the wreckage from the crash site on Tuesday. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau led this operation. They collaborated closely with several key organizations in the ongoing investigations. These included the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces. The Ghana National Fire Service also assisted in the process. Additionally, NADMO personnel supported the recovery efforts.

Full-scale investigations into the incident have now commenced. Officials will work to determine the crash’s probable cause. The aviation community awaits answers from this tragic event. Families and friends now mourn the loss of both men.
