Iron rods on the south side of the Tantra Hill underpass’s Achimota Bound Road Retaining Wall have been cut and taken by some scrap dealers.
Pealing off the rods’ covering has allowed the criminals, who are thought to work in the dark, to have access to them.
Parts of the impacted region are visible in a popular video, along with the exposed iron rods—some of which have been vandalized.
Nasir Ahmad Yartey, the head of the Ministry of Roads and Highways’ Public Relations Unit, stated that the ministry had been aware of the problem for a while and that an examination of the facility revealed weak and porous concrete in the retaining wall’s damaged areas.
