Press Release-NPA Addresses Fuel Shortage In Northern Ghana

A Technical Committees set up by Ghana’s Chief of staff has met today to address reports of fuel shortage in the Northern part of the country.

In a press statement from the Corporate Affairs directorate of the National Petroleum Authority, the public is informed not to panic as the situation is being resolved.

To ensure an effective solution is reached, Oil Marketing Companies have been granted special dispensation.

Some of these dispensation include to load petrol from the Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) deposit in Kumasi. An additional measure is to load more petrol from depots in Tema to augment what is being loaded from Kumasi.

The committee hopes the measures put in place will avert the situation. The consuming public is advised not to panic or involve in panic buying as it is hopeful that the proposed solutions will worked effectively.
