The Ghana police has stepped up efforts to maintain high levels of law and order in the country.
As part of ongoing efforts to discuss security preparedness for a peaceful election, the Election Security Taskforce together with the IGP met the University Teachers Association of Ghana(UTAG) in Accra

The Election security taskforce is made up of miliary, immigration, prisons service, fire service and the Ghana Police service.
It was at this event that the IGP made the revelation. The program is to reward individuals who give information to the police.
This is to prevent certain individuals from causing mayhem in the country.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) also announced that persons who give information to the police will be rewarded.
The reward will range from 1,000 to 20,000 depending on the significance of the information.
Dr. Dampare assured of anonymity for such persons.
The IGP said “If you find it difficult to bring the information one-on-one, a toll free 0800311311, has been introduce for that purpose”
