The police has reported the destruction of the statue of Ghana’s former president Nana Addo.
The image is located at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi.
The police report says the image had already been destroyed when they got to the scene.
The image which has totally been destroyed occurred at 1:30am on January 13th 2025 according to the police.
For most Ghanaians and residents of Sekondi, this comes as no surprise at all. Back in December 2024, a similar incident occurred but could not totally destroy the image. The image was repaired after the damage under police surveillance.
This time in January however, after the change in Government, the perpetuators have been resolute in their determination to permanently destroy the image.
The true intention of the destruction may not be known, but since the first attempt was carried out in December 2024, many are not surprised at the second and successful attempt.
A reporter from UTV said no one has been identified as the culprit. The report also indicate that the residents of Sekondi claim the destruction is a sign of their displeasure for the deplorable state their community.
