Broadcaster and former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has claimed that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) plans to arrest him in retaliation for his criticism of the institution.

In a Facebook Live video, he revealed receiving warnings that Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng intends to detain him “to teach him a lesson.” The OSP has summoned him over an alleged corruption case involving a revenue assurance contract between GACL and EvaTex Logistics Limited, but Adom-Otchere insists the contract was signed after his tenure and without his knowledge.

The OSP rejected his request to reschedule the interrogation, raising suspicions of an ulterior motive. Adom-Otchere alleged that the agency’s insistence on the original date is a setup to arrest him, citing legal advice that the OSP may detain him without immediate cause. He further questioned why he is being investigated when the contract was negotiated and executed by GACL management, not the board. “The board only recommended due diligence and no upfront payment—management handled the rest,” he stated.

Adom-Otchere also accused the OSP of deliberately leaking the summons to the media to damage his reputation. “This is their usual tactic—create public suspicion before any formal charges,” he said. Critics have raised concerns over whether the OSP is acting independently or targeting him for his vocal critiques of Agyebeng’s leadership. The case has reignited debates about the fairness and transparency of Ghana’s anti-corruption efforts.

Despite his objections, Adom-Otchere confirmed he would honor the summons with his lawyers present. The outcome of today’s interrogation could determine whether the OSP pursues further action or if the allegations of political persecution gain more traction. As tensions rise, the public awaits clarity on whether this is a legitimate probe or a politically motivated maneuver.
