Caught in the Crossfire: Zionfelix and Kwaku Manu Stranded in Dubai
The escalating conflict between Iran, the US, and Israel has reached the doorsteps of two popular Ghanaian figures, leaving them stranded in the United Arab Emirates.
As missiles fly and tensions grip the Middle East, the ripple effects are halting travel and stranding passengers globally.

Among those caught in the unprecedented aerial assault are popular Ghanaian blogger Zionfelix and veteran actor Kwaku Manu, who now find themselves confined to Dubai as the region’s airports shut down and flights grind to a halt.
The chaos erupted after the US and Israel launched a deadly attack on the Iranian capital, Tehran. The strike, which reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other top military commanders, ignited a furious response from Tehran. In retaliation, Iran launched a barrage of attacks toward neighboring Gulf nations, including Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

This sudden escalation forced multiple Gulf countries to declare a state of emergency, closing their airspace and temporarily shutting down major international airports to ensure public safety. The decision has canceled hundreds of flights, trapping thousands of travelers in transit hubs across the region.
Zionfelix: A Transit to Europe Derailed
Popular Ghanaian blogger and entertainment critic Zionfelix turned to social media to share his distressing experience. He revealed that he was en route to Europe when the conflict erupted, grounding his connecting flight indefinitely.

Zionfelix posted images directly from the airport, showing the chaotic scene on the ground. In the photos, monitors display a sea of red “Cancelled” notifications next to flight after flight. The terminals, he showed, are packed with anxious, stranded passengers waiting desperately for any news regarding their departures.
Despite the uncertainty, Zionfelix praised the swift response of Emirates airlines.
He explained that the carrier has stepped up admirably, providing accommodation and necessary visas for all stranded passengers, including himself, ensuring they have a place to stay while they wait out the conflict.
Kwaku Manu: A Business Trip Turned Unexpected Stay
Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu also found himself in a precarious position in Dubai. Unlike Zionfelix, who is in transit, Kwaku Manu traveled to Dubai specifically for a business trip.
He had successfully concluded his mission of purchasing a stock of perfumes to resell back home in Ghana when the war news broke, effectively locking him in the country.
Taking a lighter approach to a stressful situation, Kwaku Manu took to social media to mock himself and his predicament.
He shared his uncertainty about how or when he will manage to return to Ghana, especially with his purchased goods in tow.
While Zionfelix enjoys the security of airline-provided accommodation, Kwaku Manu faces the anxiety of an extended, unplanned stay in a foreign country with no clear exit strategy.
As the world watches the geopolitical situation unfold, these two Ghanaian personalities remain in Dubai, waiting for the skies to clear and the world to step back from the brink of war.
