Ghana Mpox Cases Rise To A Total Of 446 Infections

Mpox Cases In Ghana
Ghana Mpox Cases-The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 22 new cases of Mpox, significantly increasing the national total to 446 confirmed infections as of August 25, 2025.

Fortunately, the latest update also confirms no new deaths or hospital admissions; consequently, the national death toll remains at one.
This new data follows a recent report from August 14, which had documented 37 new cases and raised the total to 409 at that time. Therefore, this steady increase clearly indicates the virus’s ongoing transmission within communities.
Prevention And Precautionary Measures
According to health officials, Mpox primarily spreads through close contact with an infected person. Subsequently, infected individuals typically develop symptoms such as fever, distinctive skin rashes, and swollen lymph nodes.
In response to the outbreak, the GHS is strongly emphasizing public prevention measures. Specifically, they urge all citizens to maintain rigorous hygiene practices. Moreover, they advise anyone experiencing potential symptoms to seek immediate medical care without delay.
Key warning signs that require prompt medical attention include fever, intense headaches, widespread body pains, and, most notably, the appearance of skin rashes. Ultimately, early detection and treatment are crucial for managing the outbreak and effectively preventing further transmission.
Health authorities have also advised citizens to visit nearby healthcare facilities if they notice any of the symptoms
Low Death Rates From Mpox Cases
The relatively low death rate suggests that Ghana’s healthcare system is currently managing cases effectively. Meanwhile, Health authorities continue to stress that public vigilance remains absolutely necessary as infections persist.
