The Electoral Commission of Ghana is set to conduct a new parliamentary elections for one polling station in the Dome Kwabenya constituency.
The polling station in question is the Abokobi Women’s Development Training Centre.
The final declaration for that constituency results has failed multiple times due to lack of credible pink sheets for accurate declaration of the final results..
Even the re-collation exercise didn’t produce any success for that constituency.
Additionally, there was a disruption in that constituency leading to the destruction of some hard copy pink sheets.
During its final collation, the EC rejected one result leaving two. The Commission further stated that, after adding only the two results, there was a change in the outcome.
The two results that were included produced a difference of 165 votes between the two leading candidates.
On the other hand, the results under contention involved 669 votes. This the EC says could affect the outcome of the final results.
For these reason, the EC has decided to re-run the election for one polling station.
