After an abysmal performance by the Ghana Black Stars players at the 2023 AFCON, the Ghana Football Association has decided to sack the head coach – Chris Hughton
The black stars team were drawn into a group with Egypt, Carp Verde, and Mozambique in of which they came in third position with 2 points out of 9.
This has led many African football journalists and past footballers to describe this current team as the worst in the history of the country’s football.
Ghana lost to Cape Verde with a 1-2 score line with Westham superstar Kudus missing from the team’s sheet.
The team’s hope came alive when the Westham superstar returned and gave the team a 2-nill solid lead in their 2nd group match against Egypt. The team however could not hold on to the lead.
The Egyptians capitalized on two sloppy defensive blunders committed by the Black stars and equalized.
The last group game of the black stars against Mozambique also took a similar trajectory when the opponents equalized in the last 5 added minutes.
The captain Dede Ayew gave away a penalty while an unfathomable defensive blunder by the Ghanaian goalie, Richard Ofori gave away a corner kick leading to a second goal and an equalizer from the opponents.
Due to the abysmal performance of the team, the GFA has decided to sack the head coach together with the entire technical team.
