The Ghana Police has reported the killing of 3 individuals at a Newmont mining site.
The statement was contained in a press release by the police dated 9th January 2025.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Ntroso in the Ahafo Region. It happened on Wednesday night 8th January 2025, when some persons attempted to breach security and steal gold from the company.
In a possible exchange of fire, the police gunned down 3 and injured 4 others.
The IGP said a team has been sent for further investigation. He added that another team has been deployed to beef up security to ensure law and order in the town.
