The Ghana Airport Company Ltd has shut down the McDan Aviation for private jet services at the Kotoka International Airport.
A video that surfaced on social media applications in the afternoon of Monday 30th December 2024 showed the Airport workers union reveal the reason for the action.
The leader revealed that the Private Jet terminal was indebted to the Airport company.
Alhaji Abdul Issaka Bamba, the Divisional Union said the union supports fully the decision of management to shut down the private jet services due to the debts owed.
The Airport Company Limited revealed that McDan Aviation owed its company an amount to the tune of $3million. The debt is said to include land leases, rentals and terminal charges.
According to the Airport management, the debt of $3million including all the other charges had accumulated over a period.
The McDan Private Jet services currently uses the terminal 1section of the airport.
The private jet services had faced a previous shutdown in the year 2022 from the Airport Company Ltd.
The Aviation services faced boycott actions and came under strong opposition from key figures in the aviation sector, the minister of Transport and some management members of the Airport company ltd during its launch in 2022.

McDan and his group are yet to respond to the alleged $3million debt.
