A University of Ghana student has publicly disputed the school’s claims of a COVID-19 resurgence on campus, alleging that the administration is using the pandemic as an excuse to cancel entertainment programs.

In an interview with Channel i TV, the student argued that there is no evidence of a significant spike in cases and accused the university of spreading falsehoods to justify restricting social events. He suggested that the move is aimed at curtailing student gatherings rather than addressing a genuine public health threat.

The university has yet to respond to these allegations, but the student’s claims have sparked debate among peers, with some supporting his skepticism while others urge caution.  Meanwhile, students await an official explanation from university authorities regarding the reported COVID-19 cases and the potential cancellation of campus events.
