SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF Hon Bernard Ahiafor AS FIRST DEPUTY SPEAKER OF PARLIAMENT ON THE APPOINTMENT COMMITTEE
Dear General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As a dedicated member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a keen observer of parliamentary proceedings, I am deeply concerned about the performance of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Bernard Ahiafo, in his role on the Appointment Committee.
It has become evident from recent committee sessions that his handling of affairs has been highly unsatisfactory. His inability to effectively conduct proceedings, coupled with what appears to be gross incompetence, has raised serious concerns among party members and the general public. The Appointment Committee plays a crucial role in vetting key national appointments, and any lapse in leadership at this level risks undermining our party’s credibility and the trust the Ghanaian people have placed in us.
In light of the above, I respectfully request that the party leadership considers replacing Hon. Bernard Ahiafo with a more competent and decisive representative who can uphold the party’s integrity and ensure that the work of the Appointment Committee is conducted with the diligence and seriousness it deserves.
I trust that the leadership of the NDC will take this matter into urgent consideration in the interest of good governance and our party’s future. I look forward to your prompt attention to this issue.
