The Electoral Commission of Ghana will begin the special voting on Monday 2nd Dec 2024
Ghana has general parliamentary and presidential elections in December 2024.
As has always been standard procedure, special voting begins days before the main elections.

The general election is slated for Saturday 7th December 2024.
So far, the total number of eligible voters for this exercise is 131,478
Those who are eligible for special voting are security officials, media, some workers of the EC etc.
These officials are set to play a major role in maintaining decorum at the general elections.
This is to allow efficient election monitoring and supervision by such officials

EC chairperson announced that one who was not able to register for the special voting exercise on 2nd December could however participate in the general polls on 7th December.
The EC chairperson also clarified that counting of the special ballots will not take place immediately. It would be added to the ballots of December 7th.
The commission will rely heavily on the Ghana police and other security services in ensuring ballots are kept safe without compromise for the general counting after December 7th.
