The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of 3 suspects connected to the death of the Asante Kotoko fan who was stabbed in a football match on Sunday.
The violent incident occurred during a football match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kototo.
The three suspects are Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Agyemang Duah Owusu and Kyeremeh Joseph.
The Police have found evidence of clothes with traces of suspected bloodstains and a pistol with ammunitions during a search in suspect Agyemang Duah Owusu’s room.
The Inspector General of Police has console the family members and the Kumasi Asante Kototo football team members.
Major sports stakeholders including the GFA, the Sports Minister and Ghana Police have all condemned the violent clash and have pledged to increase security measures at stadiums during football matches.
