AABryt foundation, a none governmental and non profit making organization founded by broadcast journalist Diana Akosua Adutwumwaa Britwum has applauded Mahama led NDC government’s approach to the free distribution of sanitary pads.
The main objective of the organization is to promote positive and Reproductive Menstrual Health as well as Gender Equality.
Every year, the organization distributes free sanitary pads to teenage girls across the nation with emphasis on underprivileged persons in deprived communities.
In the past three years, AABryt has distributed more than 15,000 sanitary pads to over 3,000 teenage girls from Greater Accra, Ashanti, Oti, Eastern, Central and Volta Regions of Ghana.
The distribution of free sanitary pads has been a long standing mission of the organization that aims at breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation while ensuring access to affordable and high quality sanitary products.
Founder of the organization, Diana Akosua Adutwumwaa Britwum, stated that the Government’s initiative is a significant step forward in addressing the “period poverty” whiles improving menstrual health. This she said aligns with AABryt’s mission and program of “Free Sanitary Pads” distribution across the country.
The organization reiterated its determination to collaborate with authorities in charge of the project to ensure the successful distribution of sanitary products in hard-to-reach areas.
