Kofi Kinaata in an interview with Kwaku Manu, have revealed how his father, a religious leader opposed is music career in the past. Coming from a strong traditional Ghanaian home coupled with a religious father meant his life was going to be extremely difficult if he insisted in doing music.
According to the Artiste, his father’s major concern was that as long as he stayed in that career path, he would be exposed to an immoral lifestyle. Despite the initial resistance, Kinaata’s persistence and success eventually changed his father’s mind. Tracks like “Susuka”, “Things Fall Apart”, and “Behind the Scenes” brought him fame and awards, proving his talent.
Kinaata is known for his lyrical depth and positive messages, which helped change his father’s perception of musicians. The profitability of his music as a result of his lyrical Prowers additionally eased his father’s concerns about his stability
Today, his father supports his career and even attends his performances. Kinaata often acknowledges his father’s initial concerns as coming from a place of love and protection.
